Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter

FFCAS social

I had been volunteering for the Fairfax County Animal Shelter for a few years when the Friends asked if I could help with thier social media engagement. I said YES!

As the social media manager for the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, I developed a content strategy focused on Facebook and created the daily content. Our goal was to show the impact every donation made in the lives of shelter pets.

In six months, the small non-profit saw a 25% increase in engagement. More importantly, this lead to a substantial increase in donations that helped shelter animals get critical medical care.

Focus areas: content strategy, stakeholder communications

Social media is an important part of our fundraising. Susan helped us develop a comprehensive editorial calendar, making sure our posts had a good mix of content. Since we started following her plan, our engagement is up more than 25% and increasing. We are building our community daily and are excited about the engagement we have.
